Housing Development Maps for CALA Homes

Client: CALA Homes

I was commissioned by CALA Homes to design Housing Development Maps to showcase New Monks Park and Shopwyke Lakes developments.

The brief for the New Monks Park project was to:

  • design a map that emphasised the location and family friendly style of the development and also the adjoining Country Park. 
  • highlight the close proximity to Lancing beach, the South Downs National Park, Brighton as well as easy access to shopping and travel infrastructure.

I used a mixture of icons and in-situ illustrations to highlight key places. Also, to help bring a feeling of closer proximity between New Monks Park and Brighton and Shoreham-on-Sea I used insets.

The Monks Park map is designed for online use, in print brochures, as an A1 poster and as a very large scale 3m x 2m display.

The brief for the Shopwyke Lakes map was to emphasised the location and family friendly style of the housing development. On the map I highlighted the close proximity to Chichester and the adjoining lakeside/park.  I also focused the design on the coast as well as easy access to local shopping and travel infrastructure.

The Shopwyke Lakes map was designed to be used online, in print brochures and as an A1 poster for office display.
