“Going into this project we wanted to present Waddesdon Manor’s exceptional gardens in a way they may not have been experienced before – encouraging a mindful visit by spotlighting restorative and inspiring aspects of the grounds. Bek worked to this brief brilliantly, capturing the gardens and some of its lesser known artworks and peaceful spots perfectly. Bek has been a pleasure to work with, from her enthusiasm for Waddesdon as we wandered the grounds together to her extreme attention for detail that has meant that not only is the map a beautiful piece of art in its own right, it also captures the serene atmosphere that can be enjoyed on a wander around Waddesdon. We are sure that our visitors will enjoy this exquisite map as much as we have loved working with Bek to create it”

Waddesdon Manor NT commissioned me to design their visitor mindfulness map. The concept of the mindfulness map was to guide visitors through the peaceful and thoughtful areas of the manor gardens. It was also important to incorporate Waddesdon’s Silent Space. The map provides a beautiful and enduring keepsake for visitors.
I did a site visit to experience the many sculptures and tranquil areas of the grounds and highlight the areas of outstanding beauty. My visit also ensured I could take lots of reference photos and sketch a rough map layout.
The final map was very well received and is available to buy in the Waddesdon Manor gift shop as a doubled sided folding map. The other map is a lovely Dog walk Map by Debbie Ryder.
